Dr Sankaye is often asked to review scans that have already been reported elsewhere: by patients who are unsure about a result, by clinicians who want a specialist view, and by organisations resolving disputed reports. This work has given him a detailed understanding of how and why reporting errors happen, and it shapes how LSRI works: hearing each patient's story, planning each scan around the clinical question and reporting as a musculoskeletal specialist.
Independent specialist review of MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound from NHS and private providers, including complex cases where earlier opinions disagree.
Independent arbitration in disputes about radiology reports.
As former Head of Specialty at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, his responsibilities included handling complaints and reviewing reporting discrepancies. As former Expert Advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, he gave expert radiology advice on complaints about NHS care.
Independent expert reports on musculoskeletal imaging for personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
"Reviewing difficult cases, through second opinions and complaints, has shown me how easily things can be missed, and it shapes how I work. No radiologist can promise never to miss anything. But taking time to understand the patient, choosing the right protocol and reading as a specialist all help."
